An Il-76 has to hold whilst a fox strolls casually across the taxiway at
Rostock-Laage Airport.

A fox at an airfield would be a good thing, I think; their love of eggs
would help keep down bird populations. Also, no a/c has yet been lost to a
fox strike.

But I'm fold (by someone it happened to) that they make a real mess on the
undercarriage of a 747 if you do hit one on take off. Pilot claimed he
didn't feel a thing but the ground crew on arrival got a bit of a surprise
to find bits of fox all over one bogie.

I believe QANTAS lost an engine during takeoff (747) when a fox darted out.
I can't recall the year but it took place in Melbourne Australia at least
10+ years ago.
